Stalking leftovers

Resim
Hello my name is Jo and I'm a real estate addict. I stalk listings hoping to find the perfect property I can't afford anyway. Oh well a girl can dream. There is one problem though. I'm fussy. Not quite right, love the bones but ditch the furniture, bad photos, I need more photos please! Can't quite put my finger on it listings with something that has me nodding "yes". This week I've found my usual old houses with expansive extensions, an artist's house, a mid century home that needs a new owner and some TLC, houses for sale and those already sold. Anmahian Winton Architects designs zinc-clad space observatory in New Hampshire

Resim
The private Gemma Observatory can be found on a remote summit in central New Hampshire, in a “dark” landscape away from light pollution. Cambridge, Massachusetts-based  Anmahian Winton Architects designed the astronomical observatory's unconventional form in response to the granite bedrock outcroppings of the site — like its patterned zinc-clad exterior and distinct geometric shape, instead of the typical observatory dome. Most recently, the project was named a winner in the AIA 2017 Small Project Awards .  Justine Testado via Archinect - News http://ift.tt/2tuWHr0

The bold addition features the world's first all-porcelain public courtyard, paved with 11,000 handmade porcelain tiles in 15 different patterns. The tiles were manufactured by Koninklijke Tichelaar Makkum, the Netherlands' oldest registered company, established in 1572. After six years of construction, the Exhibition Road Quarter, AL_A-designed courtyard space opened yesterday in London's Victoria and Albert Museum , adding 11,840 square feet of column-free flexible gallery space to the museum to help accommodate the V&A's headline exhibitions. ARAPINIS KOSMIMA - SWAROVSKI

Resim
Based on the need to expand the existing jewelry store and maintain the merger of two adjacent spaces the project consists of minimalistic and pure lines. Considering the in-between wall as a fact that cannot be reversed, the focal point becomes the three dimensional black L-shape structure, which flows through the otherwise white interior, guides the eye through the space and connects the two rooms. , Architizer Editors, read more Architizer http://ift.tt/2tuKN09

Factory and Office Headquarter Annex by SUBdV Architecture

Resim
Designed by a Brazilian architecture firm SUBdV Architecture, this Factory and Office Annex in São Paulo, fuses high-tech architectural design strategies with local low-tech construction methodologies. The façade system references the traditional Brazilian ‘cobogo’ shading screen, which controls the filtration of indirect sunlight through the operable windows on the south and west facades, while also creating a thermal mass which prevents the penetration of hot air in the interior spaces. Photos by Rodrigo Chust Photos by Rodrigo Chust Generated through parametric scripts, the various geometric configurations of blocks produce different sized openings and differently-angled light reflection planes, allowing for the optimal combination of both shading and illumination. The building's double-height ground floor contains a material storage facility, first and second floors are dedicated to administrative office space for the factory and a showroom of the factory's produ

Distilled luxury in white

Happy almost 150th birthday Canada! Preparations are well underway here in Ottawa for the biggest party of maybe the century and I will be one of the few federal government employees venturing to work today (we've been told to work from home given all of the road closures and general chaos). And on that note, I figured today was the perfect day to feature the work of a fellow Canadian. Peter Wilds ' spaces have been showcased here before several times (like here , here , here , here and here ) but we haven't shared this beauty yet. He calls it "Distilled Luxury". Elegance and simplicity in white. Simply gorgeous.   , KiM , via desire to inspire http://ift.tt/2t9wZWL
