Architecture & Design Film Festival New York announces its film lineup


Held in New York from November 1st to 5th, 2017,  the ADFF:NY will be screening 30 movies over 6 days at the Cinépolis Chelsea. 

"With tickets going on sale October 4, ADFF:NY explores architecture & design's intersection with all creative and innovative pursuits. The 30+ feature length & short films touch upon topics such as imaginative solutions for homeless housing and how drones will impact architecture, and include exclusive windows into the minds of creatives such as fashion designer Dries Van Noten and Rem Koolhaas. A short film even follows four dancers in search of a narrative as they prowl the interiors and exteriors of Bjarke Ingels' new DAM Award winning VIA 57 West in NYC."

Going beyond borders, oceans, and thinking of the continents as a continuous entity comes from this vision. Fifty years later, we face the existential threat of ecological disaster, and maybe revisiting the whole earth project seems like a way of recapturing that drive. This proposal looks at a network of towers that span across the oceans connecting the planet in a matrix that provides energy cleans the oceans and gives new chances for life to thrive. Fusion, Solar, and Hydro-power are used in this matrix with all of these being in high abundance in the ocean.
