The World's Best Architectural Photograph of the Year announced at WAF 2018

Polish photographer Pawel Paniczko has taken top honors winning the overall architectural photography prize at this year’s World Architecture Festival. His photograph of Long Museum West Bund, Shanghai, China by Atelier Deshaus beautifully uses light to show off the contrast between the new, concrete museum and the existing 1950s coal-hopper unloading bridge its been built around.

It was one of two photographs by Paniczko to receive recognition at today's awards ceremony. He has also won the Portfolio category with his pics of the Harbin Opera House, Harbin, China by MAD Architects. Among other selections exhibited in Amsterdam, organizers also recognized two mobile winners, with the judges’ winner being He Zhenhuan’s photo of an overpass in Chongqing, China and the public-voters’ winner being John Pinder’s Half Spiral, for his abstract photo of a spiral staircase.
