This week's picks for NYC architecture and design events


Planning for another week in New York City? If you're curious about where design-inclined folks are gathering around town, Archinect and Bustler have compiled a snappy list of local architecture and design events that are worth checking out. Check back regularly so you don't miss out.

This week, you can listen in on a discussion about the affordable-housing development process in NYC. Perkins + Will will open up their office for an Architectural League First Friday evening social. And if you haven't seen it already, The Met Fifth Avenue currently has an exhibition dedicated to legendary fashion designer Rei Kawakubo for the Costume Institute's 2017 spring exhibition.

Going beyond borders, oceans, and thinking of the continents as a continuous entity comes from this vision. Fifty years later, we face the existential threat of ecological disaster, and maybe revisiting the whole earth project seems like a way of recapturing that drive.
