Closer look: 3XN's new Olympic House in Lausanne

Ahead of its June 23 inauguration on Olympic Day, the final photos of 3XN's anticipated International Olympic Committee Headquarters — also dubbed as the Olympic House — in Lausanne have been revealed.

The Olympic House is adjacent to the 18th-century castle, Le Château de Vidy, in Louis Bourget Park near the border of Lake Geneva. The CHF145 million (approx. $145.9 million) project includes a conference center, meeting rooms, a restaurant, three floors of offices, exhibition spaces, fitness facilities of course, a roof terrace, and underground parking. Inspired by the Olympic Rings, the spiraling Unity Staircase connects the building's five floors through a central atrium and helps define an area for social activity and movement. It also received three high-level international and Swiss sustainability certifications from LEED, Minergie, and SNBS — which make it currently one of the most sustainable buildings in the world, according to 3XN.
