The shortlisted architects for the inaugural MJ Long Prize, 2020 Moira Gemmill Prize nominees also announced

The shortlisted architects for the inaugural MJ Long Prize for Excellence in Practice and the 2020 Moira Gemmill Prize for Emerging Architecture were announced today. Both prizes are part of the Architects' Journal / Architectural Record's W Awards, formerly known as the Women in Architecture Awards.
Established in memory of architect, lecturer, and writer Mary Jane Long, the MJ Long Prize is open to UK-based female architects, who are evaluated based on their overall body of work, with emphasis on a project completed within the last 18 months.
The four shortlisted architects are:
- Emma Fairhurst of Collective Architecture, for the design and delivery of the Calton Hill City Observatory Project in Edinburgh
- Alice Hamlin of Mole Architects, for the Marmalade Lane housing scheme
- Tracy Meller of Rogers Stirk Harbour + Partners, for her role on the London School of Economics' Centre Building
- Nicola Rutt of Hawkins\Brown, for the Here East refit of the London 2012 Media Centre
