Enter Your Best Products in the 2018 A+Awards!
Now in its 6th season, Architizer’s A+Awards have always been about the same thing: making sure that architects and building-product manufacturers are recognized far and wide for the astounding work that they do. Last year alone, the program attracted 400,000 public votes from more than 100 countries and territories, making the A+Awards the premier place for manufacturers to put their work forward in front of a critical audience of architects and designers.
While this year’s goals remain the same, the program is even more compelling for manufacturers: With new Product Categories including Brick Cladding, Green Walls & Roofs, Terracotta Cladding and more, the 2018 A+Awards expands the opportunities for manufacturers and their products to gain some incredible exposure. Additionally, select winners will be celebrated on Architizer’s social media platforms, which have a global following of over 4.3 million, and on the Architizer Journal, which is viewed by 3 million visitors every month, including thousands of architects.
In this collection, discover some of last year’s Jury Winners, Popular Vote Winners and shortlisted products, and discover the breadth of exciting ways that your products can gain recognition this year. Enter your best work now until the extended entry deadline on May 25th!
Slope by Sky-Frame
Slope by Sky-Frame is an incredible sliding window system that appears to defy the laws of gravity. With the ability to install the system with either an inward and outward slope while still satisfying all standard rain drainage requirements, the sophisticated windows generate a distinctive spatial geometry throughout both interior and exterior spaces. It’s no wonder that Sky-Frame Slope stole both the Jury and Popular Vote in last year’s’ Windows & Doors category.
The Cut Evolution 2017 by Alessandro Isola Ltd.
Devoted to both practical and aesthetic excellence, Alessandro Isola’s The Cut Evolution celebrates the kitchen as a central space within the home — a place to congregate, chat and dine. Designed around a central island with a modular table that can be rotated outwards or completely concealed, the entire suite can be harnessed to suit the individual user’s needs. The Cut Evolution 2017 won both the Jury and Popular Vote in last year’s Kitchen & Bath – Cabinetry category.
BIG Alphabet of Light by Bjarke Ingels Group and Artemide
Italian lighting company Artemide worked with Bjarke Ingels of BIG to create the Alphabet of Light, which quite literally explores the language of light. BIG created a new geometric typeface, which they then transformed into precise lighting modules that emit a comfortable and diffuse quality of illumination, free of glare or shadows. The amazing modular system can be applied in both straight and curved formats.
Vitrocsa Curved by Vitrocsa
Known for stunning “invisible” wall systems and impressive modern profiles, Vitrocsa was shortlisted in both the Glazing Systems & Products and Windows & Doors category for one of their most daring and precise designs to date. Vitrocsa’s unique Curved wall system is available for fixed applications with a radius of up to 12-feet, transforming any space into a true sight to see.
KINETICWALL by EXTECH/Exterior Technologies, Inc.
EXTECH’s KINETIC WALL is a dynamic moving building façade with an eye-catching profile that mirrors undulating wind currents and rolling waves. Made of 6-inch flappers attached to stainless steel rods, the wall is customizable and specifically designed to withstand hurricane-force and torrential rainfall, while remaining light enough to enable easy installation, air flow and visibility from the inside-out. The Kinetic Wall won the Jury vote in the 2017 A+Awards’ Building Envelopes and Cladding category.
