OMA and LOLA unveil plans for new soccer stadium in Rotterdam


OMA and LOLA Landscape Architects have unveiled new renderings for a new 63,000-seat soccer stadium in Rotterdam. 

The proposed Feijenoord Stadium will be home to the Feyenoord Football Club and is billed as "future-proof infrastructure for football and daily activities in the surrounding communities" by the project team. 

The stadium, according to the architects, features three-tier seating areas that help increase the arena's overall seating capacity while also "placing spectators as close to the field as possible for an intimate match experience."

Designed with a "bowl-shaped steel structure" supporting these seating areas, the stadium represents a key node in a new master plan for the Feyenoord City district, which has also been developed by OMA and LOLA.
