Ossa Studio

Based in Charlotte, North Carolina, Ossa Studio is a multidisciplinary design firm offering architecture, workplace interiors, master planning, brand strategy, brand design, and web design. The firm was founded in 2017 and its mission is to create impactful experiences through the power of design. Ossa Studio believes “design connects our hearts and our minds to an idea, solves a problem and produces positive goal-oriented results.”

They actively pursue a diverse range of work, approaching every project with a unique solution that turns the constraints of every project into the design directive. Ossa also hosts a podcast called The Power of Design, which examines dynamics and trends in architecture, construction, and real estate.

Ossa Studio is a minority-owned business. Jack Ossa was born in Colombia, where he obtained an architecture degree. He is a first-generation immigrant, bilingual, bi-cultural designer and entrepreneur interested in exploring the intersection of business, creativity and culture in order to become a catalyst for positive transformation. “The multi-cultural aspect of my business has been important to me,” said Ossa. “Having different points of view and different backgrounds helps improve the design process by offering different perspectives.”

The jury was impressed with Ossa’s thoughtful approach to growing his business, his efficient use of contractors, and the innovative and balanced suite of services Ossa Studio offers. “When you’re trying to run a business and do the work you can forget about your long-term vision,” said Ossa. “This competition forced me to clarify my vision for Ossa Studio. Now I feel more confident in my plan for the future.”

Emily Hall, CVG’s Vice President of Marketing added: “CVG’s mission is to help small architecture firms become better businesses. This competition is one way we encourage entrepreneurial architects to invest in their vision and receive highly valuable feedback.”
