Hemlock Hill Barn in Callicoon, New York

Hemlock Hill Barn was constructed in 1998 with salvaged material from two local barns. Every weekend at the farmers market we meet another carpenter who tells us “oh yea, I built that house…” 

It is perfectly situated on 14.5 acres, overlooking the valley below. Our neighbors are cows from one of the most successful dairy farms in New York. We have trout river access on our property and a fish, turtle and frog filled pond about 20 feet from the house.

The inside is a work of wonder, the perfect assembly of hand hewn beams, locally sourced wood, and many handmade accents we’ve added ourselves.

Hyperloop One Global Challenge announces 10 winning teams & routes in North America, Europe, South Asia

Hyperloop One yesterday announced the winners of its global challenge , unveiling ten teams from five countries with their proposals of the strongest routes for future Hyperloop connections. As a next step, the company plans to work with the teams and expert business and engineering partners to determine technical feasibility and commercial viability. Architecture & engineering giant AECOM was announced in a supporting function in a newly formed public-private partnership between Hyperloop One and the Colorado Department of Transportation to launch a feasibility study in Colorado examining transportation demand, economic benefits, proposed routes, regulatory environments as well as alignment with overall CDOT high-speed travel, rail and freight plans.
