Win tickets to Beaux Arts Ball 2019: WAVE


The Architectural League of New York is ready to kick off the 2019 Beaux Arts Ball: WAVE, a yearly benefit party that supports their  programs. Continuing their multi-year residency exploring the Brooklyn Navy Yard, the Ball takes place this Friday, September 27 at Shed 269, a vast former submarine assembly building currently part of Agger Fish Corp.

Thanks to The Architectural League, Archinect is giving away five tickets to five of our readers!

From First Wave to Nouvelle Vague to New Wave, this year's theme celebrates and reflects on these pivotal cultural movements throughout history.

Going beyond borders, oceans, and thinking of the continents as a continuous entity comes from this vision. Fifty years later, we face the existential threat of ecological disaster, and maybe revisiting the whole earth project seems like a way of recapturing that drive. This proposal looks at a network of towers that span across the oceans connecting the planet in a matrix that provides energy cleans the oceans and gives new chances for life to thrive. Fusion, Solar, and Hydro-power are used in this matrix with all of these being in high abundance in the ocean.
